Read my story and why I felt this cookbook would make it easier for others to lose weight on the 6 Week Body Makeover.

······ Utensils List ······

This is a listing of utensils I found very useful while on the 6 Week Body Makeover program.

Most of these items you will already have on-hand. Others are recommendations to make "life" easier while following the program.

  • Aluminum Foil
Just a great all around cooking utensil. Line your pans before baking to help clean-up along. Great for making "packets" to bake food in the oven.

  • Cooler
A small, lunch box size food cooler equipped with "blue ice" is indispensable. You can carry your food anywhere with a minimum of fuss.

  • Disposable Products
Paper plates are not necessary to succeed but they sure help cut down on your time washing dishes! Keep a good supply of paper towels around.

  • Dual Contact Grill
My Dad gave me one of these for Christmas a few years ago. It was the George Foreman GRP99 Next Generation Grill with Nonstick Removable Plates. It is a lifesaver! I understand the Cuisinart GR-4N 5-in-1 Griddler is really nice also. See our tips on grilling for more help.

  • Taylor Biggest Loser 6.6 Pounds Kitchen Scale with Glass Platform
Invest in a really good food scale. Your stomach will love you for it! I got mine at Walmart and paid about $30. It is a digital scale and makes weighing your proteins a breeze.

  • Zak Designs E-Z-Rol Garlic Peeler, Red
This is a handy little gadget that I picked up at a local kitchen product specialty shop. It works great. Loosens all the skin off your fresh garlic cloves making peeling a cinch.

  • Vacu Vin 2977450 2-1/2-Quart Instant Marinating Container
This handy appliance is also getting rave reviews. Looks like you can marinate your meat in an extremely short period of time. Perfect for all of us guilty of poor planning!

  • Non-Stick Cookware
Most everyone has non-stick cookware these days. I invested in one really good, small skillet to use for cooking eggs, etc. Learn how to properly use & take care of your non-stick cookware here

  • Parchment Paper
I adore parchment paper. Nothing sticks to it. Use it to line your baking sheets. Try one of the meringue cookie recipes found in this cookbook. Use a parchment paper-lined baking sheet when baking. Guaranteed not to stick! Here's another alternative that is getting rave reviews. It is called Matfer 321005 Exopat Nonstick Baking Mat and is similar to Silpat. Learn more about it at amazon.com

  • OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner
Wash and dry your greens with a minimum of fuss. These have come a long way since they first came out on the market. This late model requires minimum effort to start the spinner in motion.

  • Storage Containers
Most of you probably have a collection of these already. The Glad® and Ziploc® Brand throw-away ones are great. For long-term investment, Tupperware® is the best. My current favorite is Lock n Lock® which works really well for me.

  • Flavorwave Turbo Oven
I don't have any first hand experience with this, but overall it is getting good reviews.

  • Water Bottle
Get a 1-1/2 liter water bottle. This is roughly equal to 50 ounces. Fill this up twice a day, drink it all and you're done for the day. Make it your goal to drink your first bottle by the end of your midday meal and the second bottle by the end of your evening snack.

  • Ziploc® Brand Storage Bags
Useful for storing foods in the refrigerator and freezer. Use the small sizes for individual portions, then gather all bagged individual portions together and corral in one large bag.
